Current Evidence of Cannabidiol's Potential as an Anxiolytic Agent

This article will summarize the current knowledge and scientific evidence regarding cannabidiol as a possible pharmacological tool for anxiety disorders. Although the use of this substance in medical practice is gaining momentum, gaps can still be found in the current knowledge regarding its molecular targets, drug-to-drug interactions, efficacy in different populations, adequate dosage, duration of treatment, and correct formulation. Moreover, current evidence is still preliminary, lacking robust, blinded, and placebo-controlled clinical trials in many areas of investigation.
